The Library of the Greek Community of Trieste and Eastern Europe is a historical library and reflects the interest in the education of Greek traders that to the 700 they founded the Community. And ’ perhaps the richest and most important library of all the Greek Communities abroad. It has its origins in the early 800 when it was established a school.
Currently, most of the books are historical library of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and the lower part of the modern section with books from the 1950s until today.
The section contains historical library : Magazines Greek and foreign language vocabularies and encyclopaedic , Classical Literature of authors ancient Greeks, Byzantine Literature , Literature neoellenica in old and new editions of well-known European Literature European writers , Rich collection of old maps , Collecting Books historical , liturgical books , and other books dogmatic theology , Collection of manuscripts .
The modern section was inaugurated on November 6, 2013, and contains the following categories :
Books of history and criticism , Historical Encyclopedias in Greek, classical and modern literature from around the world and in different languages, vocabularies , Conference proceedings , Art books , from the greek and greek translations , anthologies and a tourism section .
This modern section is open two days a week to ensure the lending of books with the following schedule:
Tuesday afternoon 15:30 to 18:30
Friday morning 10:00 to 13:00
